Dr. Stephen Graves Awarded Emeritus Status at Retirement Event

On Friday, April 27th, Dr. Stephen Graves was honored at a retirement reception for his illustrIous career in the USF system, both at the campus in Tampa earlier in his career and in the College of Education at USFSM. USFSM Regional Chancellor, Dr. Arthur Guilford, also awarded the first ever USFSM College of Education Emeritus Professor status to Dr. Graves who will remain active in the field and in the local school community upon retirement.  Dr. Graves first came to Florida as Chair and Professor in the USF Tampa Department of Childhood/Language Arts/Reading Education from 1996-’98 where he earned tenure.  After several years there, he relocated to USFSM as a professor and later served as Interim Associate Dean of the College of Education from 2005-’06. Dr. Graves will be sorely missed by both the faculty and staff in the College of Education and all the many students whose lives he touched as a well respected and much beloved professor.
