Bonnie Jones started in the newly-created position of Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness in 2005, after retiring from Ohio’s educational system. She taught high school English and science for four years, and then embarked on a 26-year career in higher education at the University of Akron, Cleveland State University, and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM). Dr. Jones initiated and directed NEOUCOM’s Office of Institutional Research, launching two longitudinal research databases to predict student performance and assess selection and retention programs based on demographic, academic, and psychological factors. She has also directed financial aid programs and admissions, registrar, and student services offices. Dr. Jones received her bachelor’s degree from Miami University and completed graduate work at Kent State University, earning a master’s degree in educational administration and a Ph.D. in educational psychology.
