Sanborn Studios, Sarasota’s first film and production studio, plans to bring more than a $164 million impact to the West Coast of Florida over a five year period, including the creation of 117 jobs and a focus on mentoring and growing students.
On Wednesday, November 17 from 3:30 until 4:00 p.m., Kristen Lindberg, Internship & Casting Coordinator at Sanborn Studios, will speak at a Management class at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee about job opportunities at the studio and how to network into a career.
“We have an outstanding College of Business at USF Sarasota-Manatee,” said Dr. Arthur Guilford, Regional Chancellor at USF Sarasota-Manatee. “It just makes sense that Sanborn Studios would want to hire the best and the brightest in fields like Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology, and more. Most of our students stay in our area and find jobs in our local workforce, so this is a win-win for everyone.”
Lindberg’s role at Sanborn Studios includes hiring interns, production assistants and in-house casting as well as acting as Production Coordinator. She has worked with Jeff Bridges, Tony Scott and Nancy Nye and has worked for ESPN & HBO.
The event is part of the Career Services program at USF Sarasota-Manatee, which assists with job and internship placement, networking, counseling, resume and interview training, and career advising and planning.
The event will be held in classroom B226 at USF Sarasota-Manatee, located at 8350 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, please call Toni Ripo at (941) 359-4703.
